I’m trying to find a book and can’t remember the name of it. I’m not sure if its a Nancy Drew book or not.
Story is about 2 girls who go live with “Aunt Ginny” for a few weeks. Aunt Ginny is living in the coach house of a mansion and doesn’t have the money to pay the xxxxx (taxes?) and must sell the mansion. Girls snoop in mansion and hide in a window seat, finding an old china doll and find a map in the head of the doll which leads everyone to the treasure hidden during the Civil War. Do you know this book? You’d be great if you did!

Oh. Um… Was it Quest of the Missing Map? No, that can’t be it. Do you remember anything else about it, like the cover…?
I’ll try to find out what book it was. It might have been Dana Girls if it was two girls.

Could it have possibly been a Ginny Gordon book?

I don’t remember anything about the cover. It seems to me that the main character had red/auburn hair because of a comment about wearing peach organza to Aunt Ginny’s wedding. The two girls were friends, not sisters.

I don’t think I ever read Dana Girls or Ginny Gordon. I read a lot of Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, Cherry Ames, Bobbsey Twins, and Boxcar Children, etc.

I’ve been looking at every possible vintage series mystery book (because I’m assuming it was a pre-1960 book from the plot) online and the only shadow I can find is The Boxcar Children #62, The Mystery of the Lake Monster and possible a Judy Bolton, because there is a wedding in Judy Bolton (several, actually) and Judy has red hair. I’m not familiar with Cherry Ames but I’ll look into that.
Now I REALLY want to find this book.
